Planet 316 Story Bible Review

I'm so glad you stopped by to read this review. We were pretty amazed by what technology can do and want to share it with you! We were asked to review the Planet 316 Story Bible and the companion Planet 316 Story Bible App from Planet 316 and WorthyKids/Ideals. At first it looks like a children's Bible but when you use it with the free app, it's kind of amazing!

Reading the Bible with kids can be tricky.. short attention spans, confusing words. We start sharing Bible stories with age appropriate language and pictures when our children are very little. We love children's Bibles for that very reason. When a child becomes familiar with the story, they are much more likely to enjoy reading the Bible with you and on their own when they are old enough! Our youngest is old enough to read the Bible, but she still likes pictures.

How We Homeschool: Yawn (Blogging Through the Alphabet)

Yawn... that's how I felt all day today! We stayed up late on Independence Day and we were all tired this afternoon. This is also how I feel every morning during the school year. I am not a morning person!

Even though I don't do mornings well, my children do. We have always been huge respecters of bedtime. When our oldest was a toddler, our teacher friends put their son (who was the same age as our daughter) to bed at 6 p.m. It was necessary for their schedule, and worked for their family. Once my husband's work schedule changed we started putting kids to bed at 6:30 p.m. It was amazing, Mom and Dad had time together, mom got more done after the kids were in bed, and the kids were always well rested and (mostly) happy. There was that difficult time when they started to outgrow naps. We've adjusted as they got older, they stay up after 6:30 p.m. for various, individually appropriate times to read, study scriptures, journal, or work quietly (teens only).

The Beginner's Bible Review

Family and personal scripture study is very important to my family, even my youngest reads her scriptures every night. It's adorable, since she was three she sits with her scriptures and recites memorized ones or underlines everything in her own copies. She often uses our children's versions of scripture stories because they have pictures. When Zonderkidz asked crew members to review their updated book, The Beginner's Bible, I thought this might be another good bible for my youngest to use. If you are looking for a bible for your children to start reading this year, this is one you may want to consider!
