Look at that pretty package of items Once Again Nut Butter sent us! Their mascot is a raccoon and we enjoy having a nice raccoon around the house. Thanks Once Again! They were generous enough to send us four jars of nut butter to try, Sunflower Seed Butter, Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, and Cashew Butter.
What is Once Again Nut Butter?
Once Again has been manufacturing nut butters, seed butters, and honeys since 1976. They are a very honorable company, supporting Fair Trade and Sustainability standards, and their butters are non GMO certified, vegan, kosher, gluten free, with organic options. It's nice to know there are companies that have what's best for the environment, for people, and for farmers in mind.
The ingredient lists are very clean. The Sunflower Seed Butter contains a tiny bit of organic sugar cane, but not much because the carb count is very low. The Cashew Butter contains a very small amount of organic sunflower oil to make it more spreadable. All four butters have a nice consistency for spreading or just eating off a spoon. They easily mix into yogurt, smoothies, and other dishes. None of our nut butters separated, though they advise stirring and refrigerating the Peanut Butter to prevent this.
How did we use Once Again Nut Butters?
I have four kids who love to prepare food. These Nut Butters took center stage at lunch time. They were frequently used in sandwiches and wraps, as each child customized their meal by choosing which Nut Butter they wanted that day. There wasn't any preference as to which they liked best, my family loved all four jars.
The Nut Butters were added to yogurt and smoothies. We even made cookies and fudge with them! Once Again included some recipe books in our package and we tried some of them including the recipe for Spicy Thai Peanut Noodles, which everyone loved. I want to try their recipe for Curried-Cashew Cauliflower and West African Peanut Soup. I better hurry though, or the kids will have the Nut Butters gone! I love having a variety of nut and seed butters at home. They give variety to our food and provide a change of flavor to regular meals. The protein they contain is necessary for healthy bodies. I am glad we got to try Once Again Nut butters and am proud to support their company.
