Here's an update through the rest of June. I've been so busy that I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything! I'm glad that June is done. I've seen so many good things happen the past couple of weeks though, I know Heavenly Father is watching over my family.
I found a nifty little device... it turns my husband's stereo system into a bluetooth stereo! I love listening to music in the house but the stereo is the best place to do it.. and the CD changer is gone, and it doesn't play MP3s, even with a cable. So this is pretty neat.
My husband removed the bushes on one side of our front yard!! This is SO exciting, I've wanted to do this since we moved in! It's so nice to see down the street. For the first time since we have lived here I can tell our youngest kids that it's okay to ride their bikes farther down the sidewalk because I CAN SEE THEM!
We took J out for his date night with mom and dad and stopped at two places to buy shorts for him. He's a very tall kid, and nothing fit. We found out that Old Navy has tall sizes, so we ordered men's tall for him. They're huge around the waist still, but he's okay with that.
I got to attend a fireside for youth in our area with M. It was an extension of President Nelson's "Hope of Israel" fireside, and it was pretty amazing. I'm so glad we got to be there.
E and N went to a summer primary activity and had such a fun time!
A friend gave me some cherries, then another friend asked if we wanted to come pick from her trees. We carried home 3 gallon buckets overflowing with cherries. We froze some and made cherry jam... which we have been savoring and will for quite some time. Cherries are my favorite!
J and N had well child checks, and J had to get his papers signed that he's healthy enough for scout camp. N had her first vaccinations.
Then... the final preparation began. Every year we have a Celebration of Learning at the end of the school year. This year we pushed it back to the end of June. I spent part of three days preparing the food; the children choose recipes from the country they have studied and help prepare a large meal. Everything was wonderful, the children did great, and we had such a good day! You can read all about it here.
I decided to have a movie night with the kids after that, and we watched Coco (finally!) What a cute show, and a great reminder to do genealogy!
The week ended with one more blessing... My husband got a phone call from a family member asking if he wanted a vehicle they no longer needed. From the first details we weren't sure that it would be an improvement, but we agreed to check it out. We were kind of amazed, it turned out to be a very nice vehicle. We are so grateful for it, and that our family member felt so generous towards us.
So glad you got a vehicle!! How generous of the family member, and what a blessing for you! Also, your Celebration of Learning sounds like a great time. Thanks for linking up!
