Some ways we regularly use coconut oil are:

In a frying pan, when I need to cook chicken or veggies, such as for stir fry.  It also adds a very nice flavor to breaded fish, such as halibut or tilapia.

When we're popping popcorn, whether in an electric stirring type popper or in a lidded pan on top of the stove.  This is an easy snack for older kids to make.

When baking, in place of other oils.  I love making banana bread muffins with coconut oil.  Or granola with coconut oil and honey.

One of our favorite treats with coconut oil..  In a double boiler, melt 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips with 1/2 cup coconut oil.  You'll end up with homemade chocolate shell topping!  I've kept it in a jar in the pantry for a couple weeks and drizzled it on  ice cream for a fun dessert.

Because this blog is mainly about cloth diapers and crafting.. here's one of my favorite uses for it.  I use it instead of diaper cream!  It washes right out of cloth diapers.  No residue or staining like you'd find with diaper cream.  It worked really well on that red rash my chubby infant got in her neck folds.  It's a handy moisturizer, and helped with cradle cap.
