Weekly Recap: With the Chicks

Hello again! I feel overrun with animals lately. Saturday we bought 9 chicks! We've missed having eggs this winter and are glad that we'll have them again later this summer. It is not fun having chicks in the house, but they were already a few weeks or a month old so they won't have to be inside too long.

Sunday was a nervous day for me, I spoke in church. But I made it through and learned from what I prepared. We had a family movie night that evening.

Monday's history lesson was about revolutions in South America, as countries tried to gain their freedom.

Tuesday's literature lesson began our study of poetry by Emily Dickinson. We enjoyed Valentine's day together, and I worked on our taxes.

Wednesday's science lesson was about sound waves again and we learned how many instruments make sound.

On Thursday we studied the native languages in North America.

Friday I cleaned our fish tank out, and we had two art lessons. The first was about Japanese byobu screens, and the second was about the work of Pieter Brugel the Elder. We did an art project for each lesson, a small folding screen for the first, and a watercolor landscape for the second.

I feel like I have so many things to do so this is a little shorter than usual. Have a great weekend!

  2. Fun with the chicks! I keep toying with the idea of getting chickens, but I don't really want them in the house at the beginning! LOL Thanks for linking up at Homeschool Highlights - I enjoy seeing what you share each week.
