Weekly Recap: With the reunion

This month is so busy, I'm trying to hang in here with these posts!

Sunday I was so tired and not feeling well, probably my body telling me it needed some down time to catch up.

Monday we had our second Lewis and Clark lesson. The kids made some recipes we found that may have been used as trail food, added some veggies, and then they set up tents out back and ate their dinner there.

Tuesday we learned about inclined planes in science, and focused on wedges and screws for a portion of the lesson. Dad had the day off and joined us for our lesson. E had a pizza party with her girls group at church because they've been doing so well meeting their goals lately. J had a board of review, and my visiting teachers came over.

Wednesday we had a literature lesson about finding the theme in books. J made dinner, and M had a meeting.

Thursday we talked about culture and recreation in geography. M took some extra time off school today to help a neighbor.

Friday we had an art lesson about Rembrandt. I made a cake for tomorrow, and we got a few groceries.

Saturday was an exciting little family reunion! We got to see family members we haven't seen in SO LONG! It's been 6 years since I've seen many of my cousins, aunts, and uncles, and even longer for others. We're spread out far and wide now, so it's hard to get together, but it was so worth it (I hope it was, I didn't travel nearly as far as some). It was such a refreshing day, and I came away remembering how much I love these people and wish we all lived in the same neighborhood! Another great part of the day was that my children enjoyed getting to know some of their second cousins. My son learned that two of them are the same age as he is, and was thrilled with that! Poor kid, being the only boy in our house!
