This past week I decided to make sure I am ready for school to start. I took our affidavit to be notarized, then I turned it in. I got the first few days of lessons ready. I also finished setting up my planner and chose what we'll work on the first few days.
Here is the curriculum we'll be using this year - Curriculum Choices 2017-2018
We took a morning to visit the county fair and to take the kids out to lunch. I think it has been a few years since we've been to the county fair, my youngest didn't remember going in the past. It was fun and not as hot as it usually is! We saw animals and crafts that friends had entered.
I also made some elderberry tincture and syrup in preparation for the cooler weather coming up. It can be used as a preventative or to help when someone does get sick. I also need to use last fall's berries in case we get to go collect them again soon.
To end the week I went to my niece's baby shower. That's two in two weeks! I was so excited to find actual Sleepy Wraps (not the new name of Boba Wrap), and even more excited when I demonstrated ONCE and then my nieces put them on correctly the first time! I used to help lead a babywearing group in my area and it was very rare to have someone understand how to correctly use a stretchy wrap right away (and even trickier to use a woven wrap).
Our latest progress with our homeschool photography class.
Until next week!
Great curriculum choices! We're gearing up for the official start of the school year as well. Thanks for linking up!
